21 LinkedIn messages to send after they accept.

The connection is the easy part. These messages start a real conversation, move it to a call when the time is right, and follow up when it goes quiet, without the pitch-slap.

The short answer

After someone accepts, send a short message that thanks them, mentions why you connected, and asks one easy question about their work. Pitch only once they have replied and you know there is a problem worth solving. If they go quiet, follow up once or twice with something useful, then stop.

  • Wait a day. A message seconds after they accept reads as automation. A day later reads as a person.
  • One question, easy to answer. About them and their work, not about your product.
  • Earn the ask. Ask for a call only after they've replied and you know the problem is real.
  • Follow up with value, not 'just bumping this'. A useful link, a short idea, a relevant result.
  • Stop after two follow-ups. A polite close keeps the door open; a fifth nudge closes it.

Offer two times

Sounds like it's worth a proper chat. Would Tuesday at 10:00 or Thursday at 15:00 your time work for 20 minutes?

Booking link, politely

Moving off LinkedIn

Once someone agrees to talk, book the call where both calendars can see it. Our meeting request and booking-link templates cover asking for the meeting, proposing times and confirming it.

Questions

When should I message someone after they accept my request?

Wait about a day. It reads as a person rather than an automation, and they are more likely to have looked at your profile by then.

Should I pitch in the first LinkedIn message?

No. Ask one question about their work first. Pitch only after they've replied and you know the problem is real.

How many times should I follow up on LinkedIn?

Once or twice, each time with something useful. Then close the loop politely. More than that usually costs you the connection.

How do I ask for a call on LinkedIn without being pushy?

Ask after they reply, keep it short, say how long it will take and that there's no pitch deck, and offer two specific times or a booking link.

Can Siela send these follow-ups for me?

Yes. When someone accepts, Siela's AI SDR picks up from your note with a message like these, written for that person and sent from your own LinkedIn account. Follow-ups stop when they book, say no or ask you to stop.
